Summary: This was a last minute overnight stop. Bar meal was fine and breakfast was the usual buffet style which was regularly replenished. All staff were friendly and courteous. Plenty of parking. Finding the room and navigating around the old building can be a bit of maze. Room was, clean and well equipped with a refreshing shower in the morning.

Summary: The receptionist was lovely, polite. We checked in ok. The room numbering had us confused. Our party had 2 rooms, both very spacious, but both very cold. The towel rail in one room didn't work. The central heating radiator in both bedrooms didn't work but there was an electric heating panel that eventually warmed up the large bedroom. The hotel generally appears dated. Dirty stains around the door handles and door plates. The dining room on the Sunday night was cold, but much warmer at breakfast on Monday morning. Summary: Location excellent, room and facilities inc. spa very nice. All staff were great, particularly Olivia and Lynsey in the spa and Kacey in the bar and Jess in the restaurant. Will definitely go again x

Summary: Staff were helpful as at first we were given a room with just a shower, we asked for a room with a bath and were given one. However the water was lukewarm and even after running it for 10 minutes it never got any warmer so there was no point having a bath. Also no heating in the room apart from a small portable heater that had been put in obviously to replace the central heating. Not ideal. Breakfast was average, sausage and bacon was overcooked and hash browns on the hotplates were nearly cold.

Summary: We used this as a base for the Chester Ultra Marathon, great location, friendly staff and lovely rooms. Pool, Hottub and Sauna on Sunday we a great end to a great weekend

Summary: The bathroom had mould around the taps and edge of the bath growing, the spa changing rooms were neglected and the tv in the room is out dated. Also the gym equipment is not maintained, its falling apart and making ridiculous noises.

Summary: The room was spacious, but it’s clearly in need of some TLC. There was an excessive build-up of mould in the bathroom, which is unacceptable, and the beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was poor quality, and despite the advertised 3pm check-in, our room wasn’t ready until 4pm. We stayed here a few years ago and it was good then, with real personality and attention to detail. Unfortunately, it feels like that’s now been lost. Perhaps it’s time the hotel reconsidered calling itself a four-star establishment.
